This week, January 22nd through January 28th, we begin with the pre-dawn showing on Sunday of Mercury connecting to the sliver of an "almost" New Moon. This brings forward new ideas and information that provides the spark needed to open our eyes to new possibilities. The shift of perspective makes all the difference in the world.

To get out of our rut, realize that all things are possible and to look at our life with new eyes becomes a revelation. As Mercury connects with the almost New Moon, many ideas begin to stream in. Then as the sliver of a Moon fades into the midnight and falls toward the setting horizon the New Moon becomes exact. This becomes the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. New ideas rise on Monday as the strong spiritual connection empowers our new beginnings.

Monday opens the week with ideas beaming into our life, creating a powerful mystique that sets us on our journey. Mars turns retrograde on Monday, which begins the correction process that has a destiny aimed at making adjustments to our journey. Mars first went into Virgo back in November, when changes and transitions of our goals began to shift situations around. Now that Mars is turning retrograde, we will see the next three months provide many corrections to the changes that have already began as we will see major correcting events come into place.

These corrections are all part of the new beginnings that are aligned with the FIVE year of change, breakthrough and freedom. The actions needed to completely break free from the past will occur during the Mars retrograde months (January 23rd through April 15th). These bring the welcomed relief from the chains that have held us to the old issues. Being able to have events occur that break us free becomes very exhilarating and scary at the same time, as change is the inevitable outcome.

With the Year of the Dragon empowering bravery and courage, we become aligned with the inner pull to follow our new directions, listening to the spiritual call as we boldly walk into the sunlight of a new year and embrace freedom.

Universally, 2012 is a FIVE year, which is the mid-point to the universal nine-year cycle that began 2008. As the FIVE year emphasizes change, breakthrough and freedom, we will find that many of the efforts put forth since 2008 will begin to show results.

January is universally a SIX month (in numerology terms). SIX shifts our focus to integrate the new year changes into a balance that allows us to move forward. Reaching the summit of our journey that began in 2008, the view changes from the cold dark climb of the north-face to the transitions revealing the otherside of the mountain to see the green grass, rolling hills, sunshine and many new options. We can begin to view the opportunities that are now visible as our efforts begin to unfold the remaining journey of this nine-year cycle. As options not available before become visible, changes within our work, home, health, attitude and concepts all provide a new pace that begins with this month of January.

January and February 2012 has the same numerology as November and December 2011, with the difference being the shift from the FOUR year of 2011 to the FIVE year of 2012. Bringing many of the events from November and December into the FIVE year of change provides a chance to catch our breath, take a look around (now that we've reached the summit) and begin to make some new choices. In many cases this Phase II time frame brings solutions to events that unlock the doors allowing us to move forward into a year that grants us change, breakthrough and freedom!

January 2012 Highlights

January is universally a SIX* month (in numerology* terms). SIX represents the resolutions and harmonious balance that will be regained as we move into 2012. Many of the issues that seemed to fall apart, be at odds and generally come into disarray will begin to be retrofitted with solutions and fixes that snap into place. SIX bring issues of home, work and health back into balance that provide a way forward as the breakthrough changes we have been looking for come into reality. Moving forward through January we reach the 22nd and 23rd that allow us to see the old dissolve and the new energy ushered into place as the Year of the Dragon emerges out of the ashes of the past.

Transition into the FIVE year of 2012

2012 is universally a FIVE year. Change, breakthrough and freedom becomes the energy of the new year. We have finally reached the summit of the FIVE year, as the long, dark, cold climb of the last four years, since 2008, has finally graced us with the rays of light of 2012. The light pulls us forward and gives us the chance to see that the summit has awaited our arrival to grant us a view of the mid-point of our nine-year journey. We can see how high we have climbed and traverse across the summit to see the stunning view of the other side where sunshine, the rolling green hills and the roads will take us to the next phase of our journey. The FIVE year changes many things about our life and to finally get to the FIVE year of 2012 becomes the shift that renews our optimism and excitement about life.
